Thor

Out of all the people that wanted to see this movie, I think I was the last one to finally get to watch it. I had heard nothing but good reviews(except for two friends that said it was "alright") so not being able to watch it was getting to me. Alas, I finally got to see it yesterday. I'm glad I did. Much like the most recent of Marvel films, this one also has a post-credits scene **SPOILER**that leads to the Avengers film for 2012(though really this shouldn't be a spoiler to you if you've been watching these Marvel movies lately).**END SPOILER** I liked the chemistry all actors showed. Anthony Hopkins is great as Odin, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston as Thor/Loki respectively. Overall they all did great. Stan Lee makes one of his famous cameos in this film. I'm looking forward to Captain America in July(hopefully it doesn't take as long to watch it as Thor did). No trailer this time since it's a current film that still has commercials airing to promote it.

That's What I Am

WWE Studios' latest motion picture. This film stars Ed Harris, Chase Ellison, Amy Madigan and features WWE superstar Randy Orton. The film is based on true events and is set in 1965. 13-year-old Andy Nichol(Ellison) a bright student, who like most kids his age, will do anything to avoid conflict for fear of suffering overwhelming ridicule and punishment from his junior high school peers. Everyone's favorite teacher, Mr. Simon(Harris), pairs Andy with the school's biggest outcast and social pariah, Stanley(Alexander Walters), on a critical term project. Mr. Simon finds himself the target of malicious rumor after Principal Kelner suspends a school bully for beating up a female classmate. It was interesting to see WWE touch a sensitive issue regarding **SPOILERS**homosexuality**END SPOILER**. It was a good overall movie. I felt all actors delivered the roles given to them. Here's the trailer for you.

My Seal Of Approval

So just for the sake of my boredom, I decided to change my seal of approval. I went from this:
To the newly created:
I figured it might be easier to work with a star seal that won't take up as much space on the pictures I upload. We'll see how it turns out.

Side Note: This blogging stuff isn't that bad haha. It's been giving me something to do even if I post about nothing useful(like these seals of mine).

School Of Life

You know? At this point I don't know where I'd be without Netflix lol. I applaud the people behind the idea. Ryan Reynolds once again delivers a great role in this film about a middle school and the student-elected "Teacher Of The Year" award. For the past 43 years, this award has been given to "Stormin' Norman Warner" played by John Astin. After the passing of his father, Matt Warner(David Paymer), who is also teaching at this school, bears the heavy burden of living up to the Warner name(and this is not easy). Enter Michael D'Angelo(Ryan Reynolds) A.K.A. "Mr.D"...who has come to Fallbrook Middle School as Stormin' Norman's replacement in the History department. The competition heats up for Matt as everyone just loves the new teacher in town. Having never heard of this movie before, I was once again drawn to it when I saw Ryan Reynolds on the cover lol.
Let it be known that this cover sucks and is not the one that Netflix lists. I just couldn't find a decently sized scan of the cover to add my seal of approval to. Anyway, this TV film is a winner in my book. Oh and this is the cover that I liked and is displayed on Netflix for all to see.
NOTE: I would have posted the trailer but after having watched it, I noticed there's a spoiler in there that should have been removed.

Merlin

So again thanks to Netflix I have been introduced to The Adventures of Merlin. As you might be able to tell, it's a show based on the early years of Merlin's life. He learns that his purpose is to protect and live alongside Prince Arthur(get it? Not king yet). Camelot in this series is ruled by King Uther Pendragon, a man who views magic as pure evil and has no problem executing anyone caught practicing magic. You know Merlin has it tough. Anywho, I like this show now and Netflix currently offers 2 seasons of it. In my opinion it has good storytelling and a mix of humor(though it's not all fun and games). The 4th season is suppose to start airing in the fall although I honestly don't even know what channel haha. I need to find season 3 somewhere so I can keep up. I approve of this show and am looking forward to the rest of Merlin's adventures.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

So the highlight of my week is officially set. One of WWE's most iconic superstars Stone Cold Steve Austin replied to me on Twitter. He had posted about how he wanted to grill today. I asked him if he recommended the brand that was seen in his picture. Thus, his reply =D

Sidekick 4G

So today I went to Stonewood Mall and dropped by the T-Mobile store so I could finally see the Sidekick 4G that I've had my eye on since I heard it was coming out. Having owned a Sidekick LX, seeing a new Sidekick coming out made me happy since the keyboard is awesome! I used to be so fast on the LX and I could text without looking(something I doubt I will ever be able to do on a touch screen phone). Anyway, so from reviews I've seen on the Sidekick, the only real downside(in my opinion) is that the camera is a 3MP with no flash. So that means I can only get decent pictures with good lighting. That's a bit disappointing considering my current phone has a 5MP camera. As of today I also don't currently know if I can create custom themes like I did for my LX(which was my favorite thing to do at the time). Although I've already gotten over that in case I can't do it. Size wise I'm looking to have a phone that's about as big as the LX, but the SK4G is thinner for sure. The keyboard is pretty much the same albeit with some tweaks. Here's a side by side of the phones.
So yeah you can see that there isn't too big a difference. The big change from LX to 4G is that the 4G is manufactured by Samsung while Sharp took care of the LX. The 4G is also the first Sidekick to run the latest Android software. The LX ran on Danger's OS. New to the Sidekick 4G is "Group Chat" and "Cloud Texting". With Group Chat, you can send a text to a selected amount of people, and they'll all be able to reply to the thread regardless of what carrier they are using. They will also see replies for anyone else within the group. Cloud Text is a feature that allows you to visit a specific site on T-Mobile and will allow you to reply from your PC. Your messages apparently get synced together. This can be useful if you're charging your phone in a different room and you need to get a text out. I decided that I definitely want the Sidekick 4G.

Chaos Theory

I just finished watching Chaos Theory. Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia regarding the plot. "Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) is a professional speaker who lectures on time management and he lives by example by perfectly maximizing his efficiency through scheduling and planning his own life down to the minute. One day when his wife Susan (Emily Mortimer) decides to set the alarm clock back 10 minutes, in hopes of giving her husband an extra ten minutes of time in the morning; she accomplishes the exact opposite." The guy ends up having an off day...and boy it is ever an off day. I was pleased to see an appearance by Sarah Chalke(Elliot from Scrubs). Ryan Reynolds(what drew me into watching this movie in the first place) gave a great performance. I've honestly never heard of the other actors in the film haha. "Despite negative reviews by critics the general movie going public seemed to like the movie. It currently holds a 4 out of 5 Star rating on Netflix." I have to agree with that statement. I am part of the movie going public that liked the movie. If you like Ryan Reynolds movies, then maybe you should check it out. Here's the trailer in case you were wondering.

Silver Surfer

Before I get started, know that on FB I have started a "Jimmy Approved" photo album. This is why this picture has a seal of my approval lol.

So today continued my quest of viewing Marvel uploads on Netflix. Silver Surfer was a 90's cartoon that sadly got canceled after one season. It's a shame because it leaves you with a cliff hanger. Oh and can I just say that the opening theme song is pretty epic? It's easily one of the best theme intros to cartoons from the 90's rivaled only by the 90's X-men theme song(and possibly Gargoyles). Featured villains in the series include the Kree, Skrull, Thanos and Galactus. **SPOILER** I wonder if Silver Surfer would have made it home to Zen-La in order to be with his love Shalaba.**END SPOILER** I end this post with the theme song. Enjoy.
